Here’s why we need Steve Hammerson on the Roseburg City Council:
It’s really plain and simple. In Politics, there’s good guys and bad guys. Steve Hammerson is one of the good guys.
First and foremost, Steve is a husband and father. He’s never been a huge fan of politics, but he loves America and the American flag. He’s the last person who would ever think of himself as a politician. But, in 2022, he ran for school board because he couldn’t stand by and let the State of Oregon fill our kids heads full of nonsense. And, you know what? He won his race and did exactly what he promised.
That’s why there’s so many of us who came together to get Steve elected to Roseburg City Council. Steve is big and strong and good. We can count on him to help shape a strong future for our community, despite the bad politicians who want all power to the State.
Speaking of the future, Steve has a vision for Roseburg that we all share.
“Having a family in Roseburg, I feel the duty to serve and give back to my community.”
Steve Hammerson
Steve feels a duty to serve and give back to his community.
He wants to change the experience in Roseburg’s public spaces.
Compassionately treat the local homeless problem and make places like Stewart Park and Downtown more welcoming to citizens, families and visitors.
Steve believes our local leaders should do more listening. He loves listening to veterans, families and the elderly population.
While listening to local business owners, he’s learned some great ideas to help improve prosperity and create more great jobs locally.
Steve plans to push back against state legislation impacting public safety in Roseburg. He wants to create drug-free zones to help law enforcement keep Roseburg clean and healthy. This will help in places like the Duck Pond near Fred Meyer and other areas with recurring problems across the city.
Here’s the most important thing about why we need Steve: his strength in character. We all know politics can get corrupted. But not Steve. So, regardless of the challenge, temptation or offer he faces, we know we can count on him to represent us well and stay true to his mission.
